Save Tombland Trees

Norwich City Council and Norfolk County Council plan to cut down two beautiful lime trees in Tombland, the historic public space outside Norwich Cathedral using funding from the Government’s Transforming Cities Fund. The Cathedral Magdalen and St Augustine’s Forum are campaigning for them to reverse their decision in the light of Covid, to better direct this public spend towards schemes that will genuinely enable walking and cycling, and to acknowledge the importance of conserving and repairing nature in the fight against disease and to make urban environments more resilient.

We hope you feel, like us, that the setting of the Cathedral should be approached with greater care both to the landscape and townscape setting and that beautiful trees should not be felled to no obvious purpose.
