Rapid response for pitches at Norfolk’s Stately Car Boot Sale

Applications for pitches at Norfolk’s 2020 Stately Car Boot Sale were returned within minutes.

As emails were sent out for the Norfolk Churches Trust’s fund-raising event on Sunday, May 24, a dozen pitches were booked almost by return, said organiser Patrick Lines.

Norfolk’s Stately Car Boot Sale, which has become immensely popular, returns to Sennowe Park, Guist, near Fakenham, by permission of Mr and Mrs Charles Temple-Richards and Mr Tom Cook.

If you are looking to downsize, clear your attic or lumber room, then the Stately Car Boot will be the summer’s big event. The last Stately Car Boot in 2017 attracted 8,000 potential buyers and visitors.

Within a week of inviting applications, a total of 40 pitches or some 20% have already been booked. And as the event is limited to 200 pitches, don’t leave it too long to apply, said the trust’s vice-chairman Mr Lines.

A car pitch costs £65 and a horsebox/trailer size £85. Payment is by BACS/ bank transfer but cheques will be accepted.

The organisers emphasis that it is an event for private individuals looking to dispose of unwanted possession and not for dealers/ traders.

Each standard pitch is 4m wide and in addition, each applicant agrees to donate an item, worth at least £10, to the NCT’s tent for sale.

This is the first time that email applications have been sent to all potential supporters. Further details are available on the NCT’s website
