We would love you to join us for Heritage Skills & Maintenance Day this Saturday 18th April for a fascinating free day exploring the skills, stories, and practical work that keep Norfolk’s historic churches standing strong.
Taking place across seven churches and one village hall the skills covered are numerous and varied, including and not limited to, flint wall repairs, stained glass and tower repairs, historic lettering, wood carving, church drainage, water ingress, advice on cleaning monuments and ledger stones, timber roof repairs, eco church, churchyard wildlife, bell restoration, setting up Friends Groups. leadwork, grant advice, sustainable flower arranging an exciting new element to this year’s Bike Ride, Walk & Drive and much more. Some churches will have hands on workshops, and there will be children’s activities and a family friendly treasure hunt at all venues.
Truly something for everyone!
At each church, you can see maintenance work taking place as part of our QI Grant Scheme and a representative from The Norfolk Churches Trust will be on hand to share the history of the building and explain the Trust’s work.
All venues will offer delicious homemade refreshments and essential toilet facilities.
