Geldeston monks head stories – a Competition!

You are invited to write a short, imaginative, amusing story about the two monks which have returned to Geldeston church after a period of absence for restoration.

There are two categories:

  • Children under 14 years
  • Anyone 14 years and over

Your stories will be judged by Lucy Lethbridge* and will be published in Tidings magazine. The winners will receive a small prize and will be able to meet Lucy.

All entries should be emailed to tidingsmag@gmail.com stating your name, contact details and entry category.

Please confirm that the story is your own work, and that you are happy for it to be included in a future edition of Tidings.

Entries should be no longer than 500 words, and can be illustrated. All entries to be submitted before Monday 18th December. The decision of the judge will be final.

*Lucy Lethbridge is a journalist and author of works about social history. Her most recent books are Servants: A Downstairs view of Twentieth Century Britain and Tourists: How the British went abroad to find themselves. She has also written several history books for children.
