To celebrate the Trust’s 50th Anniversary we have invited artists from Norfolk and beyond to donate an A5 (21 x 14.8cm) sized piece of original artwork.
The artists submissions will remain anonymous until after the auction closes on Thursday 22nd October at a special evening event in the Weston Room, Norwich Cathedral, hosted by artist, designer, writer and long-term friend of the Trust Matthew Rice. So the challenge will be to link the artwork with the artist! You could be taking home a creation by a professional artist, a gifted amateur, a household name, or an emerging talent.

Our host Matthew Rice
Matthew’s work is inspired by the world around him, flowers, animals, gardens and buildings are recurring subjects, with his work rooted in observation and drawing from life wherever possible. Working with watercolour, pen and ink on heavy watercolour paper, Matthew is known for his bright colours, strong sense of place and beautifully simple compositions. For 30 years, Matthew also created designs for Emma Bridgewater pottery, with millions of his designs produced and enjoyed around the world. He has published ten books, with subjects ranging from architecture to some of his favourite places, including Rome, Oxford, Norfolk, Stoke and Venice. We’re incredibly excited to have Matthew involved and look forward to hearing him talk about his work, his inspirations and his life as an artist on the final night.
