Formed in 1928 the Haags Matrozenkoor, the Hague Sailor’s Choir, is a boys choir which started in the Catholic church on Brandstraat in the Hague. After the last war the choir made a strong name for themselves. They sang principally in the Arts and Science building in the Hague or at the former Hague Zoo. For a long time the choir has been based at the KtosterKerk in the centre of the Hague.

They perform all over the Netherlands, sing regularly on the radio and over the years have given concerts elsewhere in Europe. An annual highlight is St Matthew Passion held in conjunction with the Dutch Residential Orchestra.

For nearly 100 years the choir has provided anexcellent grounding and introduction for boys to musical life in the Netherlands.

The Haags Matrozenkoor is delighted to be giving a concert in St Peter & St Paul,
Shropham, on Saturday 24tn October.
