Drawn from the celebrated diaries of Sir Cecil Beaton, photographer, designer and one of the 20th century’s most fascinating cultural figures, Richard Stirling brings Beaton’s sparkling wit, sharp observations and wonderfully acerbic humour vividly to life.
Blisteringly funny, stylish and deeply entertaining, the performance offers an intimate glimpse into a remarkable world of royalty, fashion, theatre and high society. Through Beaton’s own words we encounter an extraordinary cast of characters, from the Queen Mother, Elizabeth Taylor, and Audrey Hepburn to Truman Capote, while discovering the brilliance, charm and contradictions of Beaton himself.
