After seeing those sad images of the devastating fire at Beachamwell, St Mary from 2nd February 2022, it is wonderful to see the progress that is being made to restore this Grade 1 listed church back to the heart of its community. The roof trusses were installed last month, and the building is starting to take shape.
The Trust initially awarded a grant to St Mary’s in 2020 for repairs to the roof following damage from lead theft. A further grant was awarded last year to cover uninsured repairs identified during further inspections to the fabric of the building.
The Norfolk Churches Trust is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of county’s historic churches and is reliant upon its members and supporters to enable us to do this.
