David Stephenson *

David is an artist, lyricist, vocalist and harmonica player, Secondary School teacher, lecturer, broadcaster and curator who lives in Colchester. He has a recording project ART-O-MATIC and performs with THE GROOVY ART CLUB BAND.

He has had solo and group shows of Monoprints. Also exhibitions of videos and installations at Suburban, Oak Park, Chicago, and sound art installation at Suburban, Milwaukee.

In 2019 he co-curated exhibition Robert Fraser’s Groovy Arts Club Band (plus launch of album of the same title) at Gazelli Art House, Dover St, London

In 2025 he gave a talk on Norfolk artist Colin Self (Colin Self, Robert Fraser & the Sixties) at Norwich Castle Art Gallery and Museum.

In 2027 he will be co-curating an exhibition Tribute to Robert Fraser at the Mayor Gallery, Bury Street, London.

David’s other interests are Arts and Crafts Architecture – he plans to work on a series of Monoprints of Arts and Crafts Churches and he is shortly to start presenting a local radio programmer celebrating all the groovy arts.
