Stately Car Boot Sale raises over £103,000!

The Norfolk Churches Trust are delighted to announce that more than £103,000 has been raised from the event that took place on Sunday 4th May.

The The crowds arrived early with the event opened by Philip Mould from tv’s Fake or Fortune. The frequent showers did not dampen the spirit and more than 4,000 people attended, creating a wonderful atmosphere around the stalls. The Fakenham Town Band provided a musical accompaniment to the day, especially those taking a break over a cup of tea and some delicious home bakes.

The Norfolk Churches Trust tent was busy, and we loved talking to those who share our love of Norfolk’s unique church heritage. A thank you to the new members who signed up and those who purchased our branded Trust merchandise including our 2025 edition Emma Bridgewater pottery.

The event’s success was made possible by the tireless efforts of our volunteers, those who sponsored the event, the pitch-holders who booked, and those who donated exclusive items to our Silent Auction. Our grateful thanks also go to Mr and Mrs Charles Temple-Richards and Mr Tom Cook, for once again kindly welcoming the Trust to beautiful Sennowe Park, enabling us to host the day.

After costs, proceeds from the event amount to almost £89,000. With the Trust offering grants ranging from £300 to £10,000, several churches will directly benefit from the day. This income will be used to help parishes fund essential repairs and conservation work to their church and chapels, ensuring that future generations will continue to enjoy our county’s rich architectural heritage.
