We are delighted to welcome home one of Norfolk’s finest musical talents, Jacob Harrison to St Peter & Paul Church, Heydon  for  a Spring Concert on Friday 17th April. With members of the Norfolk Churches Trust having the opportunity to attend a pre-concert drinks reception at Heydon Hall.

La Primavera, inspired by Boticelli’s La Primavera including works by Schubert, Wolf, Donizetti & Verdi will be performed by Jacob (Bass-Baritone) accompanied by Mark Jones (Piano).

Born and bred in Norfolk, bass-baritone Jacob Harrison attended Gresham’s School from 2000-2015, where his love of singing first flourished under the tutelage of Mark Jones and as a chorister in the Chapel Choir.

Since those formative Norfolk years, Jacob has developed into an exceptional young artist on the international opera stage. He is currently a member of the prestigious Deutsche Oper am Rhein Opernstudio in Düsseldorf, following his training at the renowned Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where he garnered multiple prizes including the Wyburd Prize for German Lieder and the Keith Bonnington Prize.

Jacob’s star continues to rise with recent highlights including his Glyndebourne Festival debut in Tristan und Isolde (2024) and his principal role debut as Don Profondo in Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims at the prestigious Rossini Opera Festival (2025). He has also been honoured as an Opera Europa Eva Kleinitz Scholar and received the Help Musicians Van Allan Opera Award.

An accomplished recitalist and concert singer, Jacob has performed song and oratorio repertoire across England, Italy, Spain and Germany. His recital work has included collaborations with renowned musicians such as Graham Johnson on Poulenc, and performances ranging from the Castello Sforzesco in Milan to premiering new works in London churches. In Norfolk, concert highlights include ‘A Voice Through Time’ at Salthouse Church and ‘A Collection of Song & Opera Gems’ at Cley Church. It is a true privilege to have Jacob to perform for us here in Norfolk.

Proceeds to benefit both the Norfolk Churches Trust and St Peter & Paul church, Heydon.
