70 year old to cycle to 70 churches on 10th September

70 year old Norfolk Farmer and Forester Anthony Meynell is about to cycle to 70 churches to raise funds for this excellent charity which helps to conserve our wonderful heritage of medieval and other churches.

Formerly a competitive rower, Anthony is no stranger to fund raising marathons, having rowed 65 miles in a single scull in a day to mark his 60th birthday, and he is the only person ever to have singles sculled the Thames from London to Lechlade and back, 250 miles in 5 days, both events raising useful funds for charities.

Recent injury meant retiring from rowing, but more cycling. Anthony completed the 100 mile ‘Insanity Cycle Event’ in May, and is entered for the 100 mile ‘Tour de Broads’ event on the 21st. August.

His provisional itinerary for the 10th Sept involves about 108 miles, but whilst it will be hard work on the day, he is very much looking forward to raising a substantial sum for our beautiful churches and helping to rise the profile of the Norfolk Churches Trust.
