Passports for this event have been selling well. Many thanks to all of those of you who have already applied. For administrative reasons the deadline for receipt of applications is 10 May 2021. So if you would like to apply please use the application form attached to do so before that date.
As you will all be aware the pandemic has made life very difficult for all of us and, not least, for charities. For the NCT it has meant that many of our normal events have had to be cancelled. This has had a very negative effect on our ability to raise funds to help preserve Norfolk’s many historic churches that we are all so passionate about.
Although we are not able to bring you the ever popular House by the Church event this May we have instead put together something rather special – Open Parks and Gardens for NCT.
We are offering an opportunity to visit some of Norfolk’s best private gardens and historic parks. For one day only – Saturday 22 May 2021 – six private gardens and two historic parks will open their gates exclusively to NCT members and their guests. All venues will open from 10am to 5pm offering exclusive access. Several of the venues are also offering teas/refreshments.
The gardens are a good mix of old and new, all in magical settings and the two historic parks offer an opportunity to stroll around some of the most important designed landscapes in Norfolk.
The gardens that are participating are: Elmham House, Elsing Hall, Holme Hale Hall, Hunworth Hall, Model Farm, Holkham and Sheringham Hall
And the historic parks are: Barningham Hall and Wolterton Hall
Full details of the parks and gardens as well as locations will be included in a “passport” issued to each applicant before 22 May. The passports will grant free access to any and all of the venues on 22 May between 10am and 5pm.
To apply for a passport please complete the attached application form
* and return together with payment as set out in the form. We are seeking a suggested donation of £25 per person for this event. Applications should be returned as soon as possible and in any event before 10 May
to give us time to process them and despatch passports.
We really hope that this outside event will appeal to you and that you will support it. Please also invite your family and friends for a wonderful day out in the Norfolk countryside as lockdown begins to wind down. All the venues are large with plenty of space for social distancing.
We will be complying with all relevant Government Covid19 guidance applicable on 22 May.
In order to assist us with administration of this event please book early.
*If you would like a version of the application form in Word so you can edit it, please email and we will send you one.
If you are not yet a member of Norfolk Churches Trust and would like to join, details are available here.
